"ring, ring why don't you give me a call? ring, ring happiest sound of them all"

Tallyho people. Isn't it a wonderful day today?

Well yes. It is. Why? I don't know. It just is. And to celebrate this I'll show you my latest photoshop creation. A logo for a group project in industrial design history. All rather fanicful.

smile and the whole world smiles with you

Oh and because I'm not carying about stainless steel frames and concrete pillars right now I get to google for ads like this. And think about how everything seemed so much more pleasant back in the day. And also how much this lady looks like my mom. And how I'm someone's sunshine. And how happy I get to hear that everyday. Things like that. Screw you construction.

berlyne and his theory

I decided to not do my construction any more today. I'm only doing things that make me happy. Like thinking about what nail polish to put on and if there's any idea for me to shave my legs tonight. Things like that. And making fun things like this graph. I have now evaluated Dreyfuss' Bell Telephone Model 302 in three different graphs. This is about visual complexity. It's this sort of stuff that makes my engine spin peeps. Graphs and maps. And shaving my legs. Not how steep a boardwalk for a ferry pontoon is allowed to be. Na ha.

"all you can be is thirsty in a town with no cheer"

More often than I want to admit I struggle with my choice of becoming a landscape architect. It makes me panic thinking about that I made a choice when I was 21 that I still will affect me when I am 65. PANIC. But I don't think it has that much to do with the actual subject. It's just my restless soul fighting against doing the same thing day after day after day.

So in my panicked state of mind I need things that are fun to do. And right now I am really enjoying making maps. Abstract beautiful maps. All of these are for a project I am doing on Timbuktu. Great fun I tell thee.

"there's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be"

Wow it's hot here in Brissy today. Sunny, and hot, hot, hot.

When I haven't been sitting outside in the sun I have been playing with paper. Zaha Hadid style. (Well, mine looks like shit in comparison but you get the idea.) And one thing that strikes me is that I really miss living with Emma and Rhona. In our flat it was okay to spend a whole day lying on the floor cutting into paper. Here, in the house of 46 Heidelberg Street, everyone. Listen to me: e v e r y o n e is an engineer. Do you think they make fun of my cutting and colouring and drawing. Mhm sista, yes they do.

But I made a concept model of a shelter for the heat that has photovoltaics on top and Islamic patterns cut into it so it makes nice shadows on the ground. Super Ivan laughs. I say I'm awesome. (Oh, and yes. Calm down, it's not the final product. I will not have pictures of Canadian towels and pink bikinis when I actually present it.)

Tonight we're going to the cinema. And all I can say is baby steps dear readers. Baby steps...

"i'm tense and nervous and i can't relax"

OMG.
I'm quite anal when it comes to layouts so when a guy in my group said he wanted to make the powerpoint for tomorrow I thought "okay Charlie you're new here, make friends. Don't take control of everything. How bad can it be? He's probably awesome."

Oh. Shit. Just got this emailed to me. He thought the rays represented well the theme of our presentation.. Oh. Shit.
I sure hope that he just inserts my pdf:s into the powerpoint and doesn't decide to rewrite my slides...

"a man walks down a street, he says why am i soft in the middle?"

I know some of you want to skype with me. Sorry guys. Aint gonna happen. The internet here in the house is so frickin slow. Especially down in my room. So email me instead. Or call me on my Swedish phone. Or better yet. Send me a letter. Oh yes, yes yes. Please do. I'm the best penpal ever.

Oh boy, have I been super duper efficient today. Woke up, read 50 pages in my book. Had breakfast. Made research and put a pdf together in InDesign for my presentation tomorrow on cool things like this. Then some work on my portfolio project that I still have in Edinburgh. Lunch. Then sent an email to a woman about an internship this fall. Wrote a letter to the best cousin in the whole world. Then the sun came out for 30 minutes so I put my bikini on and enjoyed the sun whilst drawing buildings in my sketch book. Then it started raining, and I probably don't have to tell you what I did for the next 30 minutes? Yep. 2 laps.

And I just want to remind you that in exactly 2 weeks it's my birthday. So If you're wondering where you're gonna send that beautiful birthday card you made me this weekend then my address is:

46 Heidelberg Street
